<p class="Paragraph">To send a fax directly from <help:productname xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">%PRODUCTNAME</help:productname>, you need a fax modem and a fax driver that allows applications to communicate with the fax modem as they would with a printer.</p>
<p class="Head3">Sending a Fax via Dialog</p>
<p class="Paragraph">Print the current document with the fax machine as a printer:</p>

<p class="P2">Open the <span class="T1">Print</span> dialog by choosing <span class="T1"><text:s text:c="" xmlns:text="http://openoffice.org/2000/text"/>File - Print</span> and select the fax driver in the <span class="T1">Name</span> combo box.</p>

<p class="P2">Clicking <span class="T1">OK</span> opens the dialog of your fax driver where you can enter the fax recipient.</p>

<p class="Head3">Configuring <help:productname xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">%PRODUCTNAME</help:productname> for Faxing via Icon</p>
<p class="Paragraph">You can configure faxing from <help:productname xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">%PRODUCTNAME</help:productname> in such a way that a single click on one icon is sufficient to send a fax:</p>
<p class="P3">Select the <span class="T1">Fax</span> combo box of your fax driver and close the dialog by clicking OK.</p>

<p class="P3">Open the context menu on the function bar and click <span class="T1">Visible Buttons</span>.</p>
<p class="P3">You see a list of immediately configurable buttons for this <text:s text:c="" xmlns:text="http://openoffice.org/2000/text"/>toolbar. All buttons that are currently visible have a mark.</p>

<p class="P3">In the context menu, click to mark the <span class="T1">Send Standard Fax</span> button .</p>
<p class="P3">The button is now visible on the function bar. By clicking on it the fax driver entered in step 2 is activated to send the current document.</p>
